Every so often, especially during the autumnal months, I undertake a long day trip from my home base in Southern Northumberland to the Lake District in Cumbria. Last week the conditions were looking perfect mid-week for landscape photography but unfortunately my work schedule did not allow me enough time to take an overnight trip to the Lakes, so I decided to make the best of the conditions and head over to the Lake District for a day visit. During the trip I managed to visit quite a few different locations (including Grasmere, Rydal Water, Great Langdale and Coniston Water) and whilst the weather was beautiful I would have preferred it to not have been quite such a blue sky and cloudless day. However the autumnal mist shortly after sunrise was absolutely wonderful.
