As a photographer I am always looking at ways of how I can improve my images, be that through learning new techniques or by using new technology. However it can also be of benefit to look back at your old work with a view of evaluating what worked and what you could have done better. It is all part of the (continuous) learning curve. So for this blog post, I am going to share a few images from my first trip to New Zealand back in the year 2000.
If I am honest, I do think that I could have done better – But only If I could have had the knowledge and experience back then that I have now. Technology has also obviously changed with all of these shots being taken on a modest Canon 35mm SLR camera using a standard zoom and quite cheap wide-angle lens. However, these images do stand the test of time (for me) and provided a good foundation for my future career as a professional photographer.
