Northumberland is the most northerly county in England, a land of sweeping panoramas and wide vistas. Although there are many relics of the impact of industry, mining particularly, it is predominantly rural, with prosperous market towns - from Berwick-on-Tweed in the north to Hexham in the south - and small villages scattered through the countryside.
A large part of the county, nearly 400 square miles, is designated as a National Park, the most sparsely populated in England and one of the most remote but with unrivalled swathes of unspoilt nature.
Northumberland also boasts 60 miles of some of the most spectacular coastline in Britain, with intriguing islands and immense beaches.
Master-photographer Jason Friend knows this landscape intimately, understanding its majesty as well as its secluded surprises. He has captured magnificently each aspect of the kaleidoscope of scenery that makes Northumberland unique.
Address books tend to be well used and have a long life. Along with important contact details, they keep track of the user's friends and acquaintances, tracing their lives over time and from place to place. And, if properly attended to, an address book eventually becomes a journal in itself, and an attractive and permanent keepsake. Whether bought as a gift or for personal use, this Northumberland Address Book, with its superb pictorial reminders of the county, will provide years of pleasure.
